No words!

In Germany ther are many treads, only the last one with 16 pages jet!

Uli
Very recently there was a statement issued by DTTB (german tt association) which is literally translated as follows:
Palio CK 531A

The DTTB receives more and more complaints about the Rubber Palio CK 531A, which is offered in Germany in a so called "yellow version" and - through in-official sales channels - in a "blue version". Approved by ITTF and maker is the (non treated) "yellow edition" with yellow paper sheet only.

Identifyable is the obvious treatment and therefore the non official version (independent of the paper package) among other things by the strong glance of the pimple tips, that the pimples are harder than the normal ones and that a scratchy (scraping) noise occurs, if one strikes it with the hand.

This sounds quite clear, but it is not that easy if you play in leagues where no umpire can check the rule. So the discussion with non insightful players will go on. Unfortunately!

One precision : I'm also umpire and referee, and I would really be embarassed in such a situation.

This is a picture of what is written on a Palio 531A "Yellow Edition" : http://www.ittf.com/ittf_equipment/R...pany=&s_Type=& , and it seems that it's the same on the "Blue Edition", so the 2 versions seem to be authorised, even if the BE is "prepared", or "treated", or "processed" (sorry, but I can't find other words in my french-english dictionary ). So the question is : can an umpire or a referee refuse a BE, because it's more smooth and shiny than the YE, and because that's the only way to recognise it?

So it is only one umpire, who states this. For sure not all would have the same opinion.
Unfortunately I have to follow the argumentation of OSR.

I'm also an umpire/referee in Germany.

- Fact is that the Palio CK531A can be found on the current ITTF list of approved rubbers.
- Fact is also that there's no difference between the two "German Editions" of Palio concerning the name and description on the rubber

The first fact tells the referee that the player is permitted to play with the specific rubber. The second one really causes trouble. The description written on the rubber is the only possibility for a referee to distinct whether a rubber is legal or not.

The ("normal") referee unfortunately has no possibility to test whether a rubber is identical with the one which was given to the ITTF for the approval. So the referee can not state any of the "versions/editions" illegal than if he could perform some additional physical tests.

So I unfortunately have to support the oppinion of OSR though I really would like to say "yes it is not legal and no referee may permit to play with this rubber".

For sure I don't support preparation of rubbers in any illegal way, but the problem for a referee is that he has to prove these manipulations. I would be very happy if I could give another statement but unfortunately I can't...

Hi Lee Park and Ron Wallace,

how should I explain.....?

Take the European monetary agreement, not to exceed 3 percent of the BIP.

You are not allowed to do it ! It's against the agreement (rules) !
But: YOU CAN DO IT !! None of the countries will be able to charge you with the agreed penalty....

And so it works in Germany... (according to OSR, who -unfortunately I must admit this- is a German referee / umpire.....)

But this question you should better put to the international board of umpires, as many table tennis players in Germany see it the same way then you do !

So it is only one umpire, who states this. For sure not all would have the same opinion.

Ciao

German special rules and rubbers ??

What does it mean "Maybe it is not legal, but you can play with it" ??

not legal means: you are not allowed to play !
legal means: you ARE allowed to play !

Perhaps a typing mistake, OSR ??

Oh man! I fall off all clouds! What see my inflamed eyes! Another Palio discussion where the crap is steaming!

And that too yet in English, my darlingsspeech!

Also, I think, OSR is on the woodway!

Blue edition is not allowed, I think it will soon be away from the window.

It comes me so fore, as if some are powdered with the clamp bag, and this beats me out of the socks.

My dear Mr. singingclub!
