AW: ITTF World Tour 2018 It is an interesting fact, that China has a new generation of penholder players. After Liu Guoliang, Ma Lin, Wang Hao and Xu Xin, there is now the next generation with players like the Czech Open winner Zheng Peifeng and Xu Fei. This is really nice to see. |

AW: ITTF World Tour 2018 I have the feeling, that the chinese players are always very nervous if they start in a tournament. Xu Chenhao won his first match in the qualification vs Adam Szudi, but lost then his 2nd qualification match 2:4 vs Kirill Skachkov. Xu Haidon won his first match in the qualification vs Alin Spelbus, but lost then his 2nd qualification match 3:4 vs Kirill Skachkov. Zhang Yudong failed nearly in the first qualification match vs Baek Hogyun, but won 4:3. After that he got more stability and won 4:2 vs Paul Drinkhall, 4:0 vs Yuto Kizukuri and 4:1 vs Kohei Sambe. In the main draw he won the first round 4:3 vs Benedikt Duda. Next match will be vs Liam Pitchford. Zheng Peifeng failed also nearly in the first qualification match vs Ondrej Bajger, but won 4:3. After that also he got more stability and won 4:0 vs Elias Ranefur, 4:0 vs Joao Geraldo and 4:0 vs Stefan Fegerl. In the main draw he won the first round 4:2 vs Pavel Sirucek. Next match will be vs Mizuki Oikawa. Xia Yizheng had also problems in the first qualification round, won 4:2 vs Vildan Gadiev and lost then 0:4 vs Stefan Fegerl. Ma Te played so strong in Bulgaria, but lost in the first qualification round in the Czech Republic 3:4 vs Taku Takakiwa. As you can see, the chinese players are many times very nervous in their first match in the tournament and have problems to survice this first match. After that they get their stability. Strange.... so much pressure in China!? Maybe they know that they are out for some time or forever from the national team, if they fail. |
