HardBat (Brettchen) in the USA For our english speakers, interested in the latest Hardbat (Brettchen) goings-on, in the US...I refer you to the newsgroup rec.sports.table-tennis, in threads titled "Show us some money", and "Hardbat". Briefly, there has been discussion of a $10,000 match between Marty Reisman at age 70 and a 40-year old, once rated in the World top 100. It's not clear whether this is a serious ("sincere") idea or not...but it's interesting to see tempers flare. What makes me doubt that the event will come to pass is that neither principal has publicallly announced any interest in the match. John the Elder |
