AW: Table Tennis in USA I just noticed that my wife took my car and went shopping.... ![]() Well, that leaves me some time for this here. First of all: Congratulations. D.C. is THE place to go. Simply an awesome city, for many reasons. And since you indicated that you will be living there for your sabbatical, that means you must have some dough on the side, because one thing is for sure - living there ain't cheap . But good for you, again, I've been there a few times and the area surrounding the University is practically taken over by its students, which is pretty cool.As for table-tennis down there: the "Baltimore" club and first and foremost, the "JOOLA"-club in Rockville are the places to go. The JOOLA club is located in a very nice facility and you will find players with rankings all across the board. Frequent visitors there are Chen Weixing, T. Keinath and Stefan Feth. The club in Baltimore is great, too. They hold the annual "Teams"; an event taking place over the Thankgsgiving weekend and the only tournament where you can start as a team (typically, all tournaments are in the format of individual competitions and doubles). Here is a link with more infos about the clubs in your area: http://www.usatt.org/admin/ClubsList...ate=MD#listTop Okay, let me know if you have more questions - I'll also send you a PN with my contact info, it might be easier to chat on the phone at some point if you need more details as to how to become a USATT-member, rankings, tournaments, etc.. |

AW: Table Tennis in USA Hi US table tennis experts, does somebody of you know something about table tennis in the Maryland/D.C. area? I will be studying at the University of Maryland (College Park, MD) from August 2009 to December 2009/January 2010, but I will probably be living in Washington DC. I am looking forward hearing from you! BR, Nicolas |

AW: Table Tennis in USA Hi there, I totally forgot about this thread. I had a great stay in the US, Kansas and even found a nice table tennis club in my area. I used to go to the Raquet Club in Overland Park which was just about 10 minutes away by car from my house. I could practise every Sunday from 2-6pm. There was another practise during the week somewhere else where I couldn't go because of school sports. Although I just practised once a week (overe here in Germany about 3times/week+championship) my tt skills improved. The fee for the club was 8$ for every practise. Here is the homepage of my club. They don't mention it's table tennis section. (At least I can't find it) http://www.opracquetclub.com/ If there are any questions you'd like to be answered just ask! Thomas |

AW: Table Tennis in USA Hi Toni, usually, the default time for editing a topic is determined by the moderators. I don't know which value is set here but I think it will be around 24 hours as I have seen it in other groups. Have a lovely day Olaf |
