I simply love languages. My mother tongue is German and I'm speaking English - quite well, I guess - and Spanish. And I've also had Latin for 5 years. So, I think I don't have any problem with languages, but I hope that I can improve my Spanish a little.
And I love to speak English, I don't know why, but I just enjoy speaking English to someone .

@ TSC,

I know that this is a major project and therefore might take a while. Also, I think we should revoke the idea of having a chat-room available here on tt-news. I vagely recall that Sven (the moderator) had mentioned something along those lines a while back ago.

As for spreading the word: it won't work, believe me. Not until tt-news will offer an English version of its software.
I believe this is in the making. ML mentioned this in the modroom recently. However, as ML is a busy man, "in the making" could mean xxxx ( pick any date).

...... but what is a douchebag?
Well, a douche-bag is a (medical) device that holds water (or any other fluid for that matter) for the purpose of funneling it into your body through a tube. I spare you all the gory details, but if you'd like to learn more about it, just google "colonic" or "Darmspiegelung".

The term douche-bag (or just "douche"), however, is commonly used as derogatory slang, typically for the purpose of insulting someone.

As for spreading the word: it won't work, believe me. Not until tt-news will offer an English version of its software.

I am German, but I ain't a douchebag
I know what a fag is, but what is a douchebag?

I think this forum is mainly used by the German speaking community.
If there are pretty much only Germans here, why should we talk English then? That's probably the reason for most people not to participate here.

Personally, I used the English speaking thread with Adham Sharara, where it was necessary to speak English as Adham doesn't understand German.

Maybe people like Tony_Iommi should spread the word of TT-News in the U.S. and get more native speakers (better: non-German speakers) into this forum.

Well, the International part of this forum is rather boring and lame. Obviously most people don't like communicating in a foreign language.

Portraying English as an easy language is such a superficial statement. Of course the grammatical and lexicological aspects seem, at first sight, simply structured. BUT: Further facets of the language, especially the pragmatical level (i.e. language in use) is much mire developed than in our loud and violent language.

Admittedly there are accents and dialects which sound really disturbing but really bad ones I didn't experience yet.

Did someone already heard the Cockney-accent? That is really freaky speech.

My posting from 4/13/08 was extremely obnoxious, intentionally. For some reason, at least here in the States, people just better respond to rather provoking statements and "inappropriate" language (which I do use quite a bit, in general). So I had hopes that a couple of folks would at least get their attention drawn to the thread and the International Forum, subsequently.
Didn't work out well, apparently - and, as much as I was back then, I am ready to take the blame and the beating.
