hi there,

i think learnng a foreign language is very important and also cool in a way. if you are on holiday you can talk to most of the others, they dont have to speak german. i like english and french very much. talking to french or english persons is a good experience because they really understand what you say. :D

@The albatross:
Well, that's your opinion ;) At least there's a great beach (if you are in the right region... ;))

@leonie:
Well, in principle I agree with you. Being able to speak a foreign language is quite cool. But I don't think it's so cool how you learn it at school... many many boring lessons, learning more and more grammar instead of learning to speak it correctly... for example in French we had to learn all different types of times etc. - many of them are not even used or at least used correctly by the majority of the french people... and that's not real fun - there I prefer learning a foreign language e.g. with native films etc.

The last answer was posted centuries ago and I've decided to change that miserable situation:
I speak French and English rather well, I've already begun to forget Latin, but I've started learning Spanish which seems to be easier than French.
Of course, I'd like to speak more languages, but I haven't got the time (school, work and evening school [for Spanish]) :(
Mkay, I've posted, what about you?

What are you talking about, my Englisch
isn't good enough for you

bye

Sorry, I forget "to change" in my original post, but I altered that mistake.
But now everything is clear, isn't it?
(I know that my syntax isn't the best)

Hi everybody out there!
I'm also of the opinion that today learning foreign languages is very important and I like it! Of course I make some mistakes, but I don't have got a real problem with it. I think almost everybody can understand me (I hope so).
I have been learning English for 6,5 years now, French for 4,5 years (oui, je parle français ;) ) and last year I started learning Spanish (y español también :) ).

(Pfffff, this was hard - just memories of a few holidays in Spain ... and a little bit of babelfish ;) )

Has aprendido el español?? O sólo sabes esas frases? ;)

DerMitDemBallTanzt 09.05.2003 15:25

@ pelirroja

No no no - no hablo español (solamente un poquito).

I've been working in Madrid for a few weeks and I spent about five holidays in different regions of Spain - that's it.

But you obviously speak spanish fluently ...
