Did you see the new DHS Tables at the EURO-ASIA Table Tennis Event?

These tables have a new glass surface with a LCD technology.

What is your opinion about this?

Is this a modern way for a better presentation of Table Tennis or is this a no-go?

And is this table really legitimated to the table tennis rules? Or is it no problem in consideration of the regulations, to have a glass-surface with LCD technology? (the ball jump and the capability of spin-development should be different in comparation to normal tables)

The LCD tables are looking amazing!

The lightshow should not happen during a rally. During a running game, they should only show the counting, the results. But during Time Out or between two games, they could show the lightshow.

I think the glass surface offers some different situations for the players, because there should be big differences regarding the ball jump and spin! Balls could jump to high or low, balls could jump longer or shorter than expected and the rotation of the ball could also be different.

Maybe they shoud not try a LCD glass technology. Maybe it would be enough to have a good beamer to get a light show and the results on the table surface?

Nice pictures. I saw this the first time.

The display with the results is good, but the show during the match is a no-go.

Before the match, during breaks and after match, the show is ok.

But I think there will be not another opinion regarding the show during the match?

Do the initiators believe so little in their sport that they think it needs gimmicks like this? Who exactly do they want to impress?

It is more than a nice "gimmick". The result-presentation is really very special and modern and I like it. This should be the standard for World Events.

But about the show during the pros are playing, everything is already told:
