Hi everybody,

a friend of mine told me about a new superb long-pips-rubber called "Hallmark Dr.Neubauer special". It should have the nastiest spin of all long-pips. Can anyone tell me more about this 'horror-pips'

Thanks in advance

I am old-fashioned looper, so I am not an expert on any kind of pips, but I play frequently against people who use all sorts of rubbers. My feeling is that the Neubauer is a little less aggressive than the Piranja (which is the 'nastiest' imho) and does not have its spin variation. On the other hand it is supposed give you more control. Again I am not an expert on this.

Since we use the 40mm ball, many long pimple players have problems to play dangerous as they had been able to play before.
Often we hear 4 possibilites:

1.) Friendship 837 "Premium 2000"
2.) Toni Hold Virus
3.) Hallmark Dr. Neubauer Superspezial
4.) Stiga Destroyer

If you speak a little bit German, too, you can look in the materialtest-corner on www.TT-NEWS.de where you can find several reports about this rubbers.

About Dr Neubauer:

I think the main problem with this Dr Neubauer is not that it produces more spin, but that it produces *no spin at all!*

Every ball seems to come back completely DEAD and slow

These horror pips are horribly expensive: inclusive postage 84,- DM / ~ 47 Euro.

Hehe @ Cogito.
1 Euro = 1,97 DM
47 Euros then aren't 84,- Dm
47 Euro ~ 94 DM
84 DM ~ 42 Euro

But ok. not everybody can count :D.

Bye Rig

I have not the best opinion about the Hallmark Dr.Neubauer rubber! I tested both rubbers and was disappointed about the quality and the possibilitys of this rubber. I wouldn´t say ´much money for nothing´, but I can´t recommend it.
If you look for a good ´effect´, take a look at the Friendship 837 Premium 2000 and if yoo look for a good control than take a look at the TSP Curl P1 Bamboo.

Re: Hallmark 'Neubauer' ??

Returning once again I'm puzzled:
What the hell is "Hallmark Neubauer" ?

I searched several brands and never found that kind of pimples !

Are you sure the brand name is correct or did the manufacturer or seller went bankrupt ?
Or the brand name changed, didn't it ?

I'd appreciate your kind help in this matter. Thanks.

http://www.hallmarktt.co.uk/ : in fact the brand name is Hallmark, and the senior swiss player Dr Neubauer worked for them and created several rubbers and blades (he's a specialist of pimpled rubbers). Then he quitted Hallmark and created his own brand, Dr Neubauer LTD : http://www.drneubauer.com/ .
