Ich muss in englisch ein referat über tt halten und muss folgende wörter übersetzt haben:

Konter
Schupfball
Schuss
Sicherheitsschlag

Konter und Schupf volle Zustimmung. Gegentopspin ist counterloop.
Aus meiner Auslandserfahrung wird der Schupfball meist "push" genannt und der Abwehr-Unterschnittschlag "chop". Mit backspin wird nur der Unterschnitt bezeichnet und den Begriff underspin habe ich persönlich nie gehört.
Für sicher spielen wird meist "play for safety" verwendet.

Ja stimmt, "push" ist für den Schupf am Tisch der bessere Ausdruck. "Chop" heisst ja wörtlich soviel wie "Hacke" und hat mit der Entfernung vom Tisch zunächst einmal nichts zu tun. "Choppen" kann man also am Tisch oder aus der Distanz. Naja und "backspin" bzw. "underspin" sind selbsterklärend.

Underspin sagt nun echt keiner, das klingt, als hätte ein Deutscher was übersetzt. Warum nicht gleich undercut?

Ich glaube kaum, dass sich die Amis um die deutsche Sprache kümmern. Deswegen zitiere ich mal aus einem amerikanischen Glossary:

Push:

A delicate underspin shot, usually short and low over the table, hit in response to an underspin serve or an opponent's push. Executed with an open paddle that contacts the bottom of the ball. While normally a defensive stroke, it is used by attackers as well, especially against short underspin serves that cannot be looped. Long pushes are referred to by Europeans as Stabs.

Underspin (Backspin):

When the bottom of a ball is moving in the same direction the ball is traveling. Most defensive shots (chop,push) are underspin, sometimes with added sidespin. When returning an underspin ball, a player should try to hit the ball up, either by opening the paddle or by stroking upwards (see loop), because the spin will cause the ball to drop into the net. Opposite of topspin.
