Can you play with the 40mm ball better flipballs?
How do you train flipballs?

No ideas and comments? :(

the drill which my coach taught me was:
- he served short to my forehand
- I flipped to his backhand
- he countered to my backhand
- I stepped round and looped with my forehand on my backhand side.

(i am a penhold looper)

the most useful thing for me was concentrating on flipping the ball with the *top* part of my racket (that is, the tip) rather than the middle, and then getting back into position after the flip so that I can loop the next ball.

i don't really have a coach, but some higher-level players at my club pointed out to me some time ago that a flip shouldn't have too much arm-swinging motion.

they told me to concentrate on stepping forward with my right leg (i am right-handed) and so bringing the entire upper-body towards the ball, then a very small forearm motion to flip the ball, and then very quickly stepping back again. I practiced this quite a lot and it really helped me, once I found the right 'rhythm' for the shot.

Do you use the flipball, to play hard balls or with spin?
What about an aggressive push?

I attack low balls with flipballs (spin) and higher balls with hard flipballs or aggressive pushes!

With the 40mm ball, do you think the flipball has lost or has it become more important?

I can play the flipball very well.
With the 38mm ball, I was able to flip harder, but with the 40mm ball it is for me easier!

I don´t know why, but my flipball was much better with the 38mm Ball. They are all very slow now :(

Often the opponent is able to play an aggressive ball after it.

That is the point. The flip has become easier, but it is harder to make pressure.

I think fast flips are easier with the 40mm ball. Why? It's much more difficult to produce much spin with the 40mm ball in the service and so a short service which is a bit too high will often be punished with a flip that is nearly like a smash...

for me it is more easier with the 40 mm balls, but with 38 mm balls the flips had been faster
