AW: Hello from ITTF President
Dear Mr. Sharara,
I am very impressed and happy about the way you are participating in TT-NEWS!
It is not my intention to bore you with a lot of arguments already mentioned in this thread. To ban speed-glueing I see substantive arguments. Looking for them concerning the minimum-friction-rule, I can't found them!
Unfortunately I am affected by both rules. Nevertheless this obviousness it is not applicable to show my problems. I try to make my "explanation" as short as possible
- Now I'm 49years old.
- At the age of 14years I start to play table-tennis in a club.
- knowing about my low talent it was more a fortune to me to continue playing tabletennis after my youth. The most important reason to go on with table tennis was the idea to be able to play TT also advanced in years.
- After I had tried several playing-systems I found my one and its corresponding material. More or less unchanged I enjoyed TT for a long period of around 10 years.
- Primarily I don't recognize the big impact of th 40mm table tennis ball to my game.
- after years of testing, the solution for my forehand was now speed-glueing!
- my backhand game (with halflong pimple out) was destroyed completely. After a long lasting testing period it was only 2nd choice to fix the backhand-problem with a slippery long pimple. Never I get really happy with them, but it allows me to play in a vague similiar way like with the small ball.
- Now I have again the same problems as after the implementation of the 40mm ball - but now it seems I don't stand a chance to play a table tennis I like and gives me satisfaction.
Don't let us speak about my specific problems. Just as well it makes no sense to give me well meant suggestions. I know well about my possibilities and my limitations.
It is the first time ever I speak/write to anybody about my now basic problem and I'm not sure to be able to found a livable solution. In simple words, it is very close to give up my loved lifetime sport.
Please, there is no need to answer, think about.
With kind regards,
Nikolai Frederik Slomma
