Imagine its 1988. Somebody tells the president of the ITTF: In 20 Years we will play with a 40 mm Ball in Sets to 11....do you think he will say: Yes I think so, too...or would he say: No never????
I agree to the other argument , too. How can you say, that this "change" will not come. This decission is not yours alone. If any Association will made such a proposition and the majority of the other countries agrees then it will come!!!
For me there are still too much changes in the rules in the last years and the last two changes (VOC and less friction pimples) are destroying the style I like to play. I play with unglued pimples in rubbers as good as with fritionless pimples out on one side. But I have to change the style to play. The ball doesnt go more than 3 times over the net in one point, if I want to play successfully that style. That style brings no fun to me.
So I think I will not longer play table tennis in officiel team competition or tournaments.
There are other possibilities to play table tennis without the ITTF rules for racket material. This I will use. Maybe sometimes if my team use me 3 times a year then I take a ITTF ruled racket and play to help them.
And I´m not alone with this way of thinking. A lot of people think this way too. And if a lot of people will stop playing table tennis in ITTF ruled competition...do you think that this will be good for table tennis?
I think at all the ITTF and the most Associations they only think about the 1000 professional tabletennisplayers in the world and about main events, Mayor Leages and what is good for more TV time....nobody think about what such changes will do with the millions of players in lower leages. They are the base....
