ITTF World Junior Circuit (Platja d'Aro, ESP)
The success of the ITTF World Junior Circuit continues with another strong lineup in Spanish Youth Open, Platja D Aro 7-11 May.
A total of 27 associations will send athletes to the competition, which traditionally indicates the starting point for the intense European Junior season.
In the junior boys’ singles not fewer than 17 of the 30 best-ranked juniors will compete for the title with the German poster boy and title holder Christian SUB as the number one seed.
Encouragingly enough, the entries in the junior girls’ event are up from last year. Fifty-four girls will battle out for the title and a ticket to the ITTF World Junior Circuit Finals in Malaysia 28 Oct- 2 November.
As a vital part of the ITTF /Olympic Solidarity project “ With the Future Mind “ 2003, the organizers in Spain will, prior to the competition, host a special ITTF World Junior Elite Camp involving 12 of the 16 selected athletes.

Due to the ITTF Junior Circuit, junior players shall be born on or after 1st January 1985.
Cadet players shall be born on or after 1st January 1988.
2. System of play
Teams Stage:
1. Corbillon Cup format (A-X, B-Y, a doubles, A-Y, B-X) preferably in
groups of 3 or 4 teams.
Matches will consist of the best of 5 games.
Stage 2. Knock out system.
Matches will consist of the best of 5 games.
Singles
Junior boys & girls:
Stage 1. Robin Round system in groups of minimum 3 players.
(ITTF Junior Circuit)
Matches will consist of the best of 5 games.
Stage 2. Knock out system.
Matches will consist of the best of 7 games.
Cadet boys & girls:
Knock out system.
Matches will consist of the best of 5 games.
