Ach ja, das sind diese "tripartite commission invitation places"; davon gibt es ein paar in jeder Sportart. Im Tischtennis gingen diese Plätze 2008 an zwei Teenager, Marcelo Aguirre (Paraguay) und Priscilla Tommy (Vanuatu).
Ich glaube nicht, dass es sich um ein "Recht" handelt, und von "mindestens 3 Wettbewerben" ist mir auch nichts bekannt. Und mit den Medaillen hat das weiterhin sehr wenig zu tun...
Hier ein offizieller Text (bzgl. Kanu, aber das Prinzip gilt auch für TT):
The International Olympic Committee has worked with International Federations to develop qualification systems which allow the best athletes in
each sport to participate in the Olympic Games, but which also respect the principle of universal representation.
The primary method in which universality is respected in the qualification systems is through the continental qualification of athletes and teams.
The IOC has also sought to provide additional support and to recognise those NOCs with only a small number of qualified athletes by providing an allocation of Invitation places through the Tripartite Commission for the Olympic Games (IOC / ANOC / IF). The Invitation Places are intended to assist the participation of the smaller NOCs at the Games of the Olympiad. Invitation places will normally only be allocated to NOCs which historically have six (6) athletes or less participating in the Olympic Games.
