I have been thinking more about this over the last couple of days, and although I would like Fred to hold his bat up higher between shots, I think it is only really a short term problem.
Since the glue ban, the game has become more about looping and less about driving. Although an early block will probably benefit him at this stage, holding his bat at this height may cause him problems later on. I think in the long term, he will be well placed to develop a powerful looping game and really at this stage it is the long term we are interested in.
