Ich mach hierfür mal einen neuen Thread auf und stelle ihn ins "allgemeine" Forum, denn da geht es um einige fundamentale Fragen. Konkret handelt es sich hier um einen Antrag der Athletes Commission der ITTF an das Board of Directors, der bei der WM diskutiert werden soll. Aber offensichtlich beruht er auf einer allgemeinen Unzufriedenheit und Verunsicherung, die ja auch auf unteren Ebenen zu spüren ist. Rationale:
The Athletes Commission (AC) has concerns regarding the racket control procedure. Racket testing has, in recent years, become an obtrusive obstacle for players in focusing on performing their best in upcoming matches.

A general feeling amongst athletes is that changes to rules concerning rackets and rubbers are being made on an ad hoc basis with little concern for research or proof that these changes will influence table tennis in a positive way.
Athletes are currently being placed under an enormous amount of stress as a result of stringent racket controls. There is a large degree of variation in rubbers and blades from suppliers and many players are inadvertently failing questionable racket testing procedures, to the detriment of our sport.
