No, the team list does not change based on the withdrawal of a player. It is changed if a "team" withdraws. So, the withdrawal of the Swedish players will open a place for the next qualifier from Doha for the singles. It does not affect the teams. The team selection was "Final" as of 14 May 2012 as per the rules. However, the withdrawl of the Swedish player is being contested by the Swedish TTA against the decision of the Swedish NOC. So, if a court injunction is issued, we have to wait. We should know next week.

The ITTF is against any decision that denies the legitimate right for a player to play at the Olympic Games based on gaining an entry according to the rules of the IOC and the ITTF. We do not understand the NOCs that impose additional restrictive arbitrary criteria that prevents an athlete from their legitimate right to compete at the Olympic Games. These policies are narrow-minded, exclusive and illogical. We fully support all qualified players.
