Re: Driva Smash Ultima
Bei Don Iguanas Materialtests findet man unter anderm folgendes zum normalen Driva Smash Ultima. Hab jetzt aber keine Lust, das zu übersetzen.
The Juic Driva Smash Ultima is probably going to be the most familiar rubber of all to most Japanese sponge preference players. Of the three tested, it has the highest throw (medium throw). The sponge hardness is slightly on the softer side of medium with a mild spring of elasticity. Ultima also reacts and soaks up glue very easily. It domes the most of the three rubbers (barely more than the Makss). It has very decent offensive rubber speed ? not a slouch by any means and fast enough for all players except those who crave the new maximum technology speed. But then again, a maximum glued Driva Smash Ultima is faster than a conservatively glued Hammond. On the other hand, the Driva Smash Ultima had the most spin of the three tested (SE, MH, AC, RJ). "Those balls are loaded (SK)", "a lot more spin (RJ)". Loops had a more 'biting' arc (SE, AC), and there was more inherent "ball holding time." As this rubber had the most consistent topspin of the three sent to us, a few more loopers favored Driva Smash Ultima over Hammond. Pushes, blocks and flips are as expected. Counterdriving was extremely controllable. As for looping, the Driva Smash Ultima could produce both slow and fast loops, spinny and non-spinny loops. Perhaps the rubber is somewhat of a misnomer, instead of Driva Smash Ultima. Driva-Loop Ultima could have been a better name.
Anmerkung: Obige Aussagen basieren auf einem Vergleich des Driva Smash Ultima mit dem Tibhar Makss und dem HP@!
