Regulations for International Competitions, 3.6.3 Seeding by Association Nomination
3.6.3.1 Nominated players and pairs of the same Association shall, as far as possible, be separated so that they cannot meet before the closing rounds of an event.

3.6.3.3 The entries ranked 1 and 2 shall be drawn into different halves and those ranked 3 and 4 into quarters other than those occupied by the first two;
3.6.3.4 the entries ranked 5-8 shall be drawn as evenly as possible into eights other than those occcupied by the first four;
3.6.3.5 the entries ranked 9-16 shall be drawn as evenly as possible intho sixteenths other than those occupied by higher ranked players or pairs and so on, until all the entries have been allocated.
Ich hoffe, das erklärt es noch deutlicher. Da dies internationale Bestimmungen für die WM sind (bei Pro Tour-Turnieren gilt diese Regelung z. B. nicht), ist der DTTB natürlich national nicht daran gebunden.

Cool oder nicht, jedenfalls führt diese Regelung zu einer chaotischen Auslosungsprozedur, die ungeheuer kompliziert und zeitaufwendig ist. Da in allen Nationen - auch in China - die Meinung herrscht, daß die derzeitige Dominanz der Chinesen nicht gut für den Tischtennissport ist, stellt sich schon die Frage, warum man gerade in dieser Sportart nach einer solchen Regelung verfährt, die es beispielsweise im Tennis nicht gibt und die, in Verbindung mit der ebenfalls ungewöhnlich hohen Starterzahl (sieben Chinesen allein im Einzel), eine solche Bilanz überhaupt erst ermöglicht.
