Hammond Pro Alpha is indeed a "super rubber" and is compeittive with Bryce and Mendo MP in speed, perhaps with a slightly softer sponge than either of its direct competitors. Of particular value is the observation that this much speed and low throw provides a narrow margin for success in counter driving...a major reason why these super rubbers are better for frequent trainers than occasional club players. When used on slightly slower and softer blades, Hammond Pro can be teased into a high throw state, but still generate more forward speed than rotation...quite probably by design.
