Reigning champions, KTS ENEA SIARKOPOL Tarnobrzeg, concluded Stage 2 of the Champions League Women unbeaten. In the fourth match in the Group Stage, they once again overcame Novi Sad in Serbia. Poland’s club also secured victories against French JOUE LES TOURS TT twice.

KTS ENEA SIARKOPOL Tarnobrzeg cruised through this stage of the Champions League. In four matches, they lost only one individual match. It occurred on home soil in the duel against Novi Sad when Tijana JOKIC defeated FU Yu. Tonight, they avoided any unpleasant surprises, and Novi Sad failed to produce any upsets, even with the new reinforcement from China, young RUI QI Xia.

“It was a nice match here in Novi Sad. The team did a great job. HAN Ying was under severe pressure, but she proved why she is in the Top 10 in the world. Xiao Xin showed a nice game tonight, felt sure on the table. I knew I would play against Tijana, and I did a great job. I managed to halt her from attacking,” explained SAMARA.

KTS ENEA SIARKOPOL Tarnobrzeg will move to the quarters as the top-ranked club in Group A, while JOUE LES TOURS TT and Novi Sad will compete for the second position in the group to progress to the next stage. Novi Sad has an advantage after they overcame the French side in Tours this week.

“We are happy with our group winning, and we are waiting for the quarterfinal,” stated SAMARA.

Was ich aber erschreckend und peinlich finde, dass aus Deutschland nur eine einzige Mannschaft international spielt. Außer Berlin keine andere deutsche Mannschaft in der Champions League und auch nicht im Europe Cup.

Frankreich und Spanien schaffen es doch auch, von denen spielen insgesamt 8 Mannschaften (FRA) beziehungsweise 6 Mannschaften (ESP) international. Aus Italien und Österreich spielen 5 Mannschaften international, aus Belgien 3 und aus Tschechien 2 Mannschaften.

Das wirft kein gutes Bild auf Deutschland und könnte man auch als Affront gegen die ETTU verstehen. In Deutschland wird offensichtlich jeder Euro in den Spielerkader gesteckt und man ist nicht fähig oder nicht gewillt, die Mannschaften ein bisschen schwächer aufzustellen, um das nötige Geld für internationale Spiele zu haben.

Die besten Mannschaften aus Frankreich und Österreich sind bestimmt nicht viel schwächer einzuschätzen als die 2-3 stärksten deutschen Mannschaften und die 2-3 stärksten internationalen Mannschaften waren oder sind fast auf einem Niveau mit Berlin. Wo anders geht es also doch auch. Peinliche Bundesliga, halten sich wohl für so toll und wichtig, dass sie denken es nicht nötig zu haben, international zu spielen. Das fehlende Budget kann ich da nur als Ausrede sehen, ich vermute da mehr dass es an den nötigen Strukturen und Manpower fehlt, die Auslandsreisen zu organisieren und zu begleiten. Ein Armutszeugnis. Sollten sich mal in Frankreich oder Österreich oder Spanien Nachhilfe holen.

Wettbewerbsübergreifend sind die Länder mit den meisten internationalen Teams bei den Damen Frankreich (8), Spanien (6), Italien (5), Österreich (5), Belgien (3), Tschechien (2).

Interessant ist auch noch eine Übersicht, wie viele Mannschaften aus welchen Ländern international bei den Damen und Herren in der Champions League und im Europe teilnehmen.
Das sind gesamt: Spanien (12), Frankreich (11), Österreich (9), Italien (7), Tschechien (6), Deutschland (6), Belgien (5), Polen (4), Slowakei (3), Kroatien (2), Ungarn (2), Portugal (2), England (2), Griechenland (1), Serbien (1), Zypern (1), Rumänien (1), Estland (1), Dänemark (1).

Das ist eine große Enttäuschung, dass Berlin nicht mal das Halbfinale erreicht hat. Ein Ausscheiden im Viertelfinale gegen Metz ist zwar nicht vollkommen blamabel, aber auch nicht viel weniger.

Bei Berlin ist es wohl so, dass Spielerinnen wie Han Ying oder die nicht mehr aktive Petrissa Solja nicht mehr für Berlin spielen wollten und auch andere Topspielerinnen es vorziehen in Frankreich, Österreich oder Polen zu spielen. Wenn Berlin dann keine unschlagbare Asiatin verpflichten kann, sind sie anfällig, denn auf Shan Xiaona und Nina Mittelham kann man sich in entscheidenden Situationen nicht immer verlassen, wie beide bereits gezeigt hatten, in dieser Saison und/oder der Vergangenheit.

Das sehe ich ähnlich. Da sieht es in Europa besser aus und es wirft ein schlechtes Bild auf die deutschen Damen-Bundesligavereine.

Das ist eine sehr interessante Feststellung, und es wäre schon mal interessant, hier die Gründe zu erforschen. 2016/17/18 hat ja zumindest Bad Driburg noch 2x den Start gewagt.
Liegt es wirklich an der finanziellen Seite für die Vereine? Wenn ja, kostet die Teilnahme für die deutschen Vereinen so viel mehr als für andere Vereine? Verdienen die Spielerinnen hier so viel mehr? Sieht man sich ohnehin chancenlos und will sich dann den Aufwand sparen? Haben die Spielerinnen (oder die Organisatoren) selbst kein/zu wenig Interesse? ETTU: All-French clash went in favor of ETIVAL ASRTT

In Group C of the Champions League Women, in an all-French clash, ETIVAL ASRTT emerged victorious over GRAND-QUEVILLY ALCL in straight matches. This marks the club's second win out of two matches, having also prevailed against the top-seeded team in the group, LINZ AG Froschberg.

The club had recently played against GRAND-QUEVILLY.

"We beat them 3-1 in the French league 10 days ago," reminded us MIGOT.

Despite the result, the duel was closely contested.

"In the opening match, I was losing 0-2 against COK before I managed to recover, eventually winning by a narrow margin in the decisive game after being tied at 2-2, 5-5. It is my second victory, and it was a great boost for the team," explained MIGOT.

Anais SALPIN played against SHAO Jieni.

"SALPIN is a very dangerous, talented, and risky player. Jieni had to stay very focused, with her mind on the game all the time. Against LI Samson, Camelia was also losing 0-2. She did not believe she could win. But then a little change in coaching helped her. We told her to relax, not to overthink, and to play her game. And she did it. The decisive game ended 6-1. And all that after she lost to LE 10 days ago."

ETTU: UCAM CARTAGENA Secures First Victory in Group B

In their latest match in Group C of the Champions League Women, UCAM CARTAGENA secured their first victory. The Spanish club overcame SAINT QUENTIN TT after five intense matches.

The hosts in France had a perfect start, with both Polina MIKHAILOVA and Daniela MONTEIRO DODEAN claiming victories against Sofia-Xuan ZHANG and LIN Ye. In the third duel, Maria XIAO changed the course of the match by beating Camille LUTZ in straight games. LIN Ye seized the opportunity, pushing the match to a decider. Daniela MONTEIRO DODEAN then stretched Sofia-Xuan ZHANG to the full distance, but Sofia sealed the duel in favor of the guests.

In the two previous encounters, SAINT QUENTIN TT had overcome both UCAM CARTAGENA and SKST Plus Hodonín. The Spanish club had suffered at the hands of the Czech club twice. The last duel in Group B between SAINT QUENTIN TT and SKST Plus Hodonín is scheduled for Thursday, 21st December.

METZ TT Concludes Group Stage Undefeated

French METZ TT concluded the group stage of the Champions League Women unbeaten in Group D. They emerged victorious against both Hungarian SH-ITB Budaörsi Sport Club and Italian QUATTRO MORI CAGLIARI twice. The Italian club suffered a 1-3 defeat tonight.

Elizabet ABRAAMIAN provided the hosts with a perfect start by securing a straight games win over Pauline CHASSELIN, but Mariia TAILAKOVA showed no mercy tonight. She overcame Tania PLAIAN and ABRAAMIAN. Christina KALLBERG contributed to the triumph with a win over WU Xinxin.

With only one match left in this group, QUATTRO MORI CAGLIARI has secured one win so far, while SH-ITB Budaörsi Sport Club is still without a victory. They will face each other again next Wednesday.

ETTU: Novi Sad reached the quarters

With the second win over French JOUE LES TOURS TT, Serbia’s Novi Sad secured their place in the quarterfinals of the Champions League Women. In the last round, the Serbian team needed only four matches to book their place in the knockout stage.

Hong Kong’s LAM Yee Look was the backbone of the club’s success tonight. She overcame Nolwenn FORT and HE Li, while Tiajan JOKIC was stretched to the full distance in the match against Audrey ZARIF, but she won in the decisive game by a sudden death point.

HE Li was the only player to score for the French side; she beat Aneta MAKSUTI.

“We won the first match against Tours, but with a 3:2 score in France, it was like 0-0 – no advantage for us before this duel. The French team took a risk with ZARIF at position no. 3, but I stuck with my lineup, and it paid off,” said coach Slobodan STOJANOV. “LAM did a fantastic job, but the winner of the match was an unbelievable turnaround in JOKIC’s game. She was down 1:5, and she played an unreal 5 points to secure the victory in the match. That was the most needed point, with LAM playing so strongly.”

In Group A, the reigning champions, KTS ENEA SIARKOPOL Tarnobrzeg, also secured their place in the next stage with all four wins.

Group D of the Champions League Women is now complete. The Italian team QUATTRO MORI CAGLIARI has joined the French team Metz in the quarterfinals. Tonight, they once again overcame SH-ITB Budaörsi Sport Club. Metz remains unbeaten, while QUATTRO MORI CAGLIARI has secured two wins.

Elizabet ABRAAMIAN, Tania PLAIAN, and Arianna BARANI each recorded a victory. On the other side, Dora MADARASZ defeated both ABRAAMIAN and Tania PLAIAN, but her brave effort was not rewarded with the first win for the Hungarian team.
