I think it's not a problem to talk in English. Better than the English-German-mix with wrong syntax .

I think your son is quite good. Our 12 years old players would lose 0:3 . But you should pay attention, because he plays really often table tennis. The central questions to your son should always be: "Do you want to go the tt-training?"

Because a problem when he train so often is that he could lose the fun (especially in such young years). He should always have compensation activities .

I think I understand what you are saying and I will write in English now.

He has some training commitments which he goes to with the Regional coach which he really enjoys as he is with the other kids. He trains with me on certain days, but he will also ask to train for some extra time or he will ask to train sometimes on days when he doesn't have training. Today for example after football match at the same place he asked to work on his serves even though we were not planning to train.

He does play football, tennis and go swimming as well as play out on the street with his friends so he doesn't only play table tennis.

The position of his free arm looks strange - does he always just let it hang straight down? Shouldn't the elbow be bent and the free arm and shoulder swing more to support the weight transfer?

Ideally he would hold it higher and use it more in his shots, but after much nagging it always ends up back down there so I have given up on it. It doesn't seem to be holding him back too much at the moment, we'll just have to see what happens as he grows.
