After the first look:
He should hold his racket alway over the table! At the moment the racket is falling under the surface after most of the hits. If he is able to realize this, the combination of hits (espacily between forhand and backhand) will be faster. More time means a better possibility for placement, an earlier ball contact means more pressure to the opponent.

You raise a good point actually, and keeping the bat up between shots is something that I have been nagging him about recently. We'll have another look at it tomorrow in practice.

He has a very good feeling and despite his physical disadvantage concerning his weight he moves very quickly.

But the younger one plays very well, too

I never really moved a lot even when I could. It means I developed good anticipation and other methods to win points like serving well, good control from soft hands and very heavy topspin. I'm looking forward to fred improving so I can show a little more of what I can do also.

2 years ago I was playing at Number 1 for a team in Division 1 North in England. 1 North (and 1 South) comes below the top division (Premier) over here. I only play in the local league now as I can't afford to give up my weekends any more.

Let me know if you don't want any further vids of Fred posting. I hope that some of you may find it interesting to follow his progress (and my increasing waistline), but if you no longer want to see them, then I will stick to the english-speaking forums.

Von einer speziellen Regel abgesehen, sind die Gepflogenheiten hier im Forum relativ liberal. I coach him for about 4 hours per week, and he is coached by the regional coach for another 6 hours per week.

When I coach him he plays against me for most of the time and plays a few games against other kids.

When he trains with the regional coach, he practices mostly with other kids, a little with me and gets multiball training from the regional coach.

He plays in under 11 and under 13 tournaments every 2 or 3 weeks at the weekend.
