Will Mima Ito be better than Ai Fukuhara - and who can beat the Chinese?

Do you think Mima Ito will be better than Ai Fukuhara?

Ai Fukuhara is strong, but she can only a very few time win versus the best chinese players, so she will never be World Champion or Olympic Gold Medalist.

What is your opinion, will Mima Ito have better chances in the future? Will she have more success than Ai Fukuhara at the World Top Events and have more often a chance versus the strongest chinese women?

AW: Will Mima Ito be better than Ai Fukuhara - and who can beat the Chinese?

Good question. She definetly is very talented but I just can't imagine that anyone can seriously threaten the top chinese women in the near future.

I can see Mima achieve a similar or maybe slightly better world ranking as Ai and Kasumi but the top 3 won't be possible in my opinion (would be interesting if I am wrong though). She will surely continually improve but the Chinese are going to study her style well and find her weaknesses.

Mima Ito was now chosen to play the Olympics together with Kasumi Ishikawa and Ai Fukuhara. Sayaka Hirano is out!

But I think Mima Ito will only play in the team and not in the Singles.

I think Ai Fukuhara is still better then Mima Ito,
not only of her experiences,
also Ai-Chan made a progress this year, she did win a lot of Opens
and she did preform much more constant then the years before,
she did also beat Mima Ito on the Korean Open,
but I think Mima Ito was not OK in this match,
whatever her problems was she can do better,
I hope she can fix this.
Ai-Chan and Kasumi Ishikawa do need a better concept
and more skills about changing playing styles and technics
during a match to beat the Top-Chinese Players.

Mima Ito still needs a bit time, but she got great and very high
goals and is working very hard to reach for them and she got talent.
She needs still more experiences, specially to play against
all the Top-10 Players.
I think she is capable to be best Japanese player
in a few years, she needs to become more constant
and also developing a more variable gameplay
to beat the Top Chinese Players in future,
even now she is one of the best when matching them
and she is a serious opponent for the Chinese Top-Players,
I would say when her progress is going on like today
and she stays health she will be able to beat them.
