Commonwealth Games Manchester 2002
The team events of the Commonwealth Games are finished. England with Syed, Herbert and Perry beat Nigeria 3-0.
After Nigeria's 3-0 victory over Singapore in the semi-final, it had been expected a tough match. Herbert surprised with a 3-2 victory over S. Toriola. In the semis, England beat India 3-0 (Herbert beat C.Baboor). Singles and doubles are about to start today.

Who won the Commonwealth Games the last time? What other `popular´players (except Syed etc.) are in Manchester, too?

Last time, Syed beat Baboor in a very tight final that he described himself as "the most emotional match I've ever played".
For the Commomwealth countries, this competition is a real highlight within the table tennis season - as well as for the other sports, of course. Some more players which are well-known in Germany are Ryan Jenkins, Adam Robertson and Jong Dun Juan (Singapore/Munscheid).

Hi,
more infos about the TT event at the Commonwealth Games 2002 in Manchester at http://www.commonwealthgames.com/Spo...is/default.asp I was told that all tickets were sold out. Are there any lucky ticket holder here in this forum ? Your impressions ? Bye.

Oh, a few moments ago i read the results, Segun Toriola won against Johnny Huang in the final with 3:11,11:9,6:11,11:7,12:10,11:9. Bronze winners are Chetan Baboor and Duan Yong Jun.
And when i look at the sother results of the men singles i nowhere find syed, i think he didn't play in the singles.

Segun Toriola
Toriola is N°1 of Nigeria and is African Champion in singles and mixed doubles with Bossedé Kaffo (men's doubles I don't know...
 ).He plays in Rotterdam and in a good form he can beat almost anybody!
