TSP Bamboo
Hi,
because my German isn't that good, I reply here. I play the Bamboo for one year now. My style is, to say at least, strange / annoying. I play both on FH and BH 70/30 attacking/defending strokes. So also with the Bamboo I play very aggressive (many forward strokes, little chopping) My blade is an BTY Grubba Pro (oversized). FH = 2.1 mm Joola Tango Now my "Bamboo" story. I started playing the Bamboo in December 2001. It was an 1.5 mm. First months I had great difficulties getting the ball on the table or giving nasty strokes. So my play was limited to pushing. In March a turnaround came and I gained much more control. So for alomst half an year I played one single sheet, no pips broke out, pips stayed "glatt" and hard. In July 2002 I switched from the 1.5 mm tot the Ox version, which gave me much more control. Attacking strokes were slower but because of the gained control I missed fewer points. But to surprise pips began to break out after 1 week = 4 training sessions (12 hours of play). When I looked more closely at the sheet, almost ALL pips were broken. I discussed this with my vendor and he thought (just as I and my trainingpartner) that the pips couldn't stand my attacking style. (to give an example : I use to smash back topspins with the bamboo )Begin August I switched to the 0.5 mm version. It didn't gave me that 'absolute control' feeling the ox had but it was a little better in attacking, so I found it a good compromise. A week ago I had to remove the sheet because more than 50% of the pips were broken. The playing charasteristics of the sheet were greatly modified too. 1) The pips were no longer "glatt" 2) the pips were no longer hard, they were soft (like a grass or so) So it seems that I need at least one sheet 0.5 mm every 3 months ![]() I ordered a 1 mm this week. I'll see how that one works out. Anyone the same experiences ?? Or do you all play defensive with the bamboo ? Stefan |

Re: TSP Bamboo
Zitat:
